C1 - Rigid goods vehicles between 3500kG and 7500KG
C   - Rigid goods vehicles over 3500KG towing a trailer up to 750KG
C1+E - As for C1 but towing a trailer over 750KG
C+E - All lorries over 3500KG towing a trailer over 750KG


Driving Academy (N.I.) can offer training for the vocational licences listed below. 

1.  Your doctor should complete a medical examination using a DLM1 form available from DVLNI.
2.   Send the completed medical form along with an application for a driving license - (e,g, category C).

On receipt of your provisional licence you can proceed with the 4 modules required to obtain a comercial licence.


Module 1 - Theory test and Hazard Perception. Studying materials available from all major stationery retailers.
5.  Module 2 - Case study exam. (From Sept 2009). 
6.  Module 3 - Practical Driving Test. Your training will conclude with a practical test at a DVTA testing centre. 
7.  Module 4 - Driver CPC Practical test (From Sept 2009). 
8. Once you have passed all modules you can then have your licence endorsed with this full LGV category.

* Category C+E is exempt from modules 1,2 + 4.
